How to do Calligraphy with leeen

I would say I am kind of blessed to have this little talent which is the ability to write calligraphy.
Of cause I am not a pro yet and I am still practicing. So, today I am going to share some tips in Modern calligraphy. How I started calligraphy and

** DISCLAIMER: IM NOT A PRO!! I'm still learning hehe*

One major major thing I would like to say is that you don't actually need a lot of money to do modern calligraphy. Because when I was younger I always think that we have to have money to do things that we like. It's partially true but this is a thing that kind of always stop me from doing the first move of starting to learn something new.
In fact, all you need to have just a simple pen and you are able to do modern calligraphy already!! Because there is something called Faux whereby you just add a little touch to the things you have written it just magically becomes calligraphy! But if you want to try something more fancy would be the famous Tombow brush pens and also what I recommend is the Pentel Fude Touch Brush Sign Pen. Both of the material I just stated above can be found in Singapore Popular and also Tokyo Hands! I normally buy my supplies from Tokyo hand because now that Popular actually tape the Tombow brush pens to avoid people to try and the result is the brush pen to look not that nice. ( if you know what I mean hehe)

The first thing to start this is to practice on your HANDWRITING aka is just like doing penmanship. Yes, it may sound silly, but that's the only way you can improve and make yourself like your own handwriting. Even for me now I am still trying to improve my handwriting. Also, if you know me well one of the weird things about me is that my handwriting is all by mood. Therefore, my handwriting will not be consistent at all. 🙈🙉🙊

The second thing is that learn the BASICS of calligraphy! Which are just downstroke will be thicker and upstroke are thinner. After knowing that, all you have to do is to practice!!

The third thing is to learn how to write cursive. This is actually not a must but it definitely will help you in the way you write calligraphy. Why do I say that because calligraphy is normally in cursive and also being connected together! BUT BUT BUT!! Do know that when you are writing calligraphy you are supposed to write it with a slow and steady pace. And ITS TOTALLY FINE TO STOP and lift up your brush pen and continue to write!! But this cursive practice thing is more like if it suits you because for me it helps me to have the visual and make me feel its smoother to write!! :)

Also, another tip would be following or save pictures on your Pinterest or Instagram of some of the handwriting you think is cute or nice. Then try to write/ practice their handwriting! Of cause, you won't be able to copy directly but guess what you will slowly realize your handwriting to change. In addition, it will somehow have the 'vibe' that you love about from their handwriting!

Do remember to do what's work for you!! If it doesn't find other ways!! :))
