New KFC burger : Tori Katsu Burger & Bonito Fries

I was super lucky to be chosen to attend the tasting for the new burger, Tori Katsu burger! Thanks to @Umeandhara aka Keiji for hosting this event. We were asked to be at the Kallang KFC for the tasting event. This was my first tasting and of cause, I hope to be able to attend this event. I felt that it will be kind of awkward if you go alone cause you won't have someone to share the opinion about the food. But thankfully they allowed bringing a plus one for the event.

*Disclaimer!! This is my honest review. Everyone has their own opinion about food so keep on reading to know what I felt about the new menu!! *

Bonito Fries 

The bonito fries consists of fries and combination of the brown Katsu sauce, mayonnaise and top with bonito flakes. The fries are super crispy and also the combination of the sweet brown sauce and mayonnaise are pretty nice. To be honest the best thing about the fries and the key item is actually the bonito flakes. I mean personally, I love bonito flakes so the whole dish was super tasty. It is actually the same theory as truffle fries. If you like truffle you will like the dish if not is just a meh for you. 

Tori Katsu 

The burger consists of the sesame bun that is sandwiching the chicken fillet that is coated with breadcrumbs and white shredded cabbage with the combination of the Katsu sauce and mayonnaise. The look of the burger was that the patty was super big! My first bite was just the taste of the sauce and the crispiness of the chicken patty. The chicken was breaded and air fried? As the patty wasn't oily at all. Something weird was that at my last bite of the burger, I only tasted the cabbage inside the burger. So my final thoughts about this burger was that the taste is not fantastic or something very wow to me. So to me, the burger is just a normal burger to me. 

Will I go back again? 

Meh not really, if I will I will go back for the fries but not the burger. The fries just remind me of the Takoyaki balls. 

Overall 

This new menu on KFC is a good idea. But the taste of it does not surprise me.
